Padma (Sarah Lynn), ERYT-500 Prenatal and Child, Teacher Trainer
Padma is the name that yoga gave her, but Sarah Lynn is the name her family gave her. Padma is a lotus flower which is the symbol of a spiritual teacher but also the belief that every day is a new day full of potential! Sarah Lynn is a name that represents independence and strength. She is all these things. Feel free to call her Padma or Sarah Lynn… which ever resonates with you!
Sarah Lynn’s true passion in life is teaching. Her passion for teaching is paired with a love of learning and she continues her education through personal practice, teacher education, and business workshops. She is inspired by teachers such as Saul David Raye (Bhakti Yoga), Annie Carpenter (physical practice) and Indira (self exploration).
Sarah Lynn was a public school teacher from 1999-2010. She taught Family and Consumer Science which included nutrition, cooking, money management, sewing, and family relationships. She has a specialty working with pregnancy prevention and prenatal/parenting practices. She achieved a Master’s Degree in Educational Technology, a National Board For Professional Teaching Certificate, served as team leader for 3 years, and received a nomination for teacher of the year.
Sarah Lynn’s JOURNEY as a teacher overlapped public school teaching and yoga teaching. As her yoga teaching developed, so did the desire to share more love and peace in the world. She taught in gyms, at Edge Yoga Studio, and then opened JOURNEYoga as a way to incorporate a more spiritual side to her teaching. Adding teacher training to JOURNEYoga developed a means of teaching about her favorite subject…. TEACHING! Sarah Lynn completed her 500 Hour Professional Teacher Training at the Nosara Yoga Institute which included 100 hours of training in Pranassage and 100 Hours of HeartRise Children’s Yoga. Various yoga conferences, workshops, and master classes have also fueled Sarah Lynn’s teaching.
On a personal level, Sarah Lynn enjoys creative activities such as sewing, crocheting, and jewelry making. She was recently married and had a blast renovating a home with her new husband. Yard work, fresh vegetables and flowers make Sarah Lynn smile! : )
